Reduce Water Bottles
I won these water bottles from one of my favorite review sites, Stuff Parents Need. I try to drink lots of water at work, but I usually forget to grab a bottle (disposable, unfortunately) so I end up paying $1.25 for ONE BOTTLE, that usually gets stuck in my bag and forgotten about.
These don't really help the stuck-in-the-bag trick, but they do help with the cost and the trash!
As you can see, there are five bottles, with a tray, supposedly one for each day, but I usually end up rinsing the same one out for a few days.
They're cute, too. They're light weight, and they're shatter-proof. I know, I just dropped on on the floor. It made the awfullest noise, like a glass falling, but no break-glass-shards-on-the-floor.
I think the only thing I don't like about these is that they aren't leak-proof. I found it out the hard way. I put it in my bag sideways, because I assumed they wouldn't leak. I tried tightening it tighter, but the cap and the bottle are rigid, so they don't really conform to each other.
But the mouth hole/spout, whatever, is a good size. You know how the Gatorade bottles have a really wide mouth so that it feels like my nose is going to end up in it? Yeah, these totally aren't like that :)

Kushies Toddler Diaper
This was going to be a negative review, I really didn't want to tell anyone, but I know I have to be honest. I started saving my Swagbucks and searched all over Amazon for a commercially made cloth diaper, in hopes that I would fall in love. Well, really, I looked for the first diaper I could by with $15 in Amazon giftcards. I thought it looked adorable and it was all I wanted. A Kushies diaper
When I got in the mail, I squealed with delight! I was ecstatic! Brendon even squealed with me too :) When I opened it, my heart sank. Like, past my toes. It was huge (in my opinion), felt like a windbreaker jacket (hello 80's!) and was stiff like...I dunno, stiff. I prepped it and it was still huge and stiff, so I hid it in the bottom of my pile of prefolds/fitted and few covers.
It has a air flow tongue of sorts, for quicker drying, though the base of the diaper takes longer to dry. It has laundry tabs, but they never stay shut in the washing machine/drier. The inside, a creamy flannel, has pilled and collected a myriad of color pils. It hasn't bothered me too much, but it's not...creamy any more.
When we went of vacation I grabbed it because I decided the thickness would make it a good travel diaper or overnight. I passed on the overnight, because I washed at night and opted for the travel. It doesn't have any stay-dry layers, so we still had to change it before the trip was over. Then, it stayed hidden again until our return home trip. We traveled at night, so I thought, again, it would be perfect. Maybe, so had Brendon slept AT ALL, EVEN JUST ONE HOUR!! But he didn't. AND? It leaked. It was awful. But we made it home, and a week later, we are out of disposables. Seriously, I have three, well, two now, because we used one for church. So I put Brendon in this again overnight. Third time's the charm, right? I folded a microfiber towel underneath the tongue thingy, so he wouldn't touch it. I put him to bed and hoped for the best.
So fast forward to this morning. Brendon woke up and-his jammies were still dry! Everywhere. Not in too much of rush to change him because my favorite cover was dirty and I only had three disposables left. So, in time, he pooped in it. Then I did change him, because ew? it smelled and who wants to eat breakfast like that.
I found that the diaper was saturated, like super wet, though, no leakies! It had sagged quite a bit so that I could see all the way down the front of it, but still no leakies! It's in the wash now, and we'll see if it has any stains.
I was expecting to tell you all what a waste of time Kushies were, but now? They're not too bad. I still think they're huge (although, Brendon has grown to fit it better) and feel like a windbreaker, and the laundry taps are awful, but it's a good overnight diaper. Just so you know, Brendon is a heavy wetter. We had to swap to overnight disposables for a while (when we had the money) because the others don't contain his pee. If I didn't change him around 4, when he woke up, he'd be up again at 7 wet and cold and cranky.
Thumbs up for an inexpensive overnight diaper. Thumbs down for trim and soft/touchy diaper.
I was not compensated for this post, as you read at the beginning, I bought the diaper with my own Swagbucks. I just want to express my opinions. Thanks
